Bring Me Back

‘Bring me back to me’,
cried the souls, divided from
themselves — cry in vain.

This triptych haiku emerged out of that sadness I think we feel when we’re not living our truth — it can feel like we’ve become divided from our true core for a number of reasons but especially when we’re not living an authentic life. Conversely, have you seen the glow emanate from someone when they’re engaged with their true calling? It’s a wonderful thing. The sentiment of these haiku also rings true with regards to people who have lost their way (I’m not talking in the religious sense although it may well apply). There is an energetic equilibrium which falls out of balance when chaos and distortion take over and we can suffer on many levels. A static energy scrambles the signal of our innate guidance systems, and we are left rudderless in an unforgiving, hostile ocean. So let us listen for the songs on the wind that remind us of who we are, and may they help to lead us back to us.
