Amazing how we live

By society’s cruel norms

Well, it’s been a cover for our own bitter attitudes

We take away our peace of mind

So we can be accepted by a bunch of nobodies

That’s why we squabble into weddings

Expecting to be whole in marriage

That dream of a lifetime

That jewel we search the world for

That stuff we lost it all for

But we kept killing the dream

For unworthy fucktards

That’s why we pretend at workplaces and gatherings

So we end up with miserable hearts

For miserable people

That’s why we are stuck in the past

Afraid we would be judged by the monsters of the present

Despite knowing they can’t change a thing about it

Why we refuse to write our stories

Why we never wrote a new chapter

So they won’t judge us by our covers

That’s why we enslave ourselves to men

Who will never see us as gemstones

But we still let them penetrate at night

So we end up with a broken heart at sunrise

Over and over again, we slave to the unworthy

That’s why we starve to the brim

Just to fit into their beautiful

Are they not insatiable

But our confidence shrunk

So we ponder on things that don’t matter

And then we loose our humanity to the inhumane.
