Is it time to stop your startup?

Basically, the system couldn’t afford to let these banks fail. They were too important and the repercussions of allowing these banks to do anything but continue would have had material damage to the financial system.

Does the market want this? Is this ACTUALLY a need?

While a number of the other reasons in the list (ran out of cash, 29%; not the right team, 23%; got outcompeted, 19%) are more operational and executional in nature, not actually understanding the market and its needs and plowing on with your idea is doing yourself, your family, your customers, your investors and other stakeholders a grand disservice.

Put another way: you’re hurting yourself and others by not actually understanding the market.

If you think, “this is going to be amazing” and, “the world needs this”, how exactly did you arrive at that decision?

It reminds me of the people that go on to various singing shows because no one ever had the nerve to say, “this is not a good idea.” Or, perhaps the person just didn’t ask anyone.
